Featured is a very
pustulated, enrolled Chinese trilobite Damesella paronai.
This trilobite’s cephalon surface is coated with countless pustules.
The thoracic segments normally end in long pointed
spines, however most are sheared away. The left side is missing some
shell and the side runs off the nodular matrix. This is a very large
specimen, but sadly is not preserved as most.
The best side by far is the cephalon and first few
segments. The genal spines are not usually well preserved on these
specimens preserved in nodules. This specimen’s left side genal spine is
partially present.
This is a very nice
representative specimen of an uncommon trilobite!
This specimen was professionally prepared by Marc
Behrendt and has no restoration to the bug or matrix.
The pictures illustrate the quality of this
piece.
