I am not sure of the identity
of this trilobite, but I believe the ID is accurate. This large
trilobite sets on a narrow piece of limestone.
The bug has two issues: first the cephalon was
damaged prior to fossilization, whether by predator or climate
conditions I cannot tell. Second, it is slightly weathered near
the pygidium. This bug is large and nicely
shelled. The left eye is present, the right eye is
absent.
This is a very fine specimen of an uncommon
trilobite!
This specimen was professionally prepared by Marc Behrendt and has no
restoration to the bug or matrix.
