Featured is a beautiful complete, highly 3D cystoid free of matrix,
collected from the famous Osgood Formation in Napoleon, Indiana. This
specimen is almost entirely enshrouded with bryozoa, making it an
extremely interesting epifaunal specimen. It is
possible that this is not a Holocystites, but a rarer cystoid species,
but I will err on the side of commonality.
The specimen was professionally prepared by Marc Behrendt.
There is absolutely no restoration on the specimen or matrix.
